Subject: Asking for help to clear the confusion of “Staatsexamen NT2 Programma I”

 

 

 

Dear Sir or Madame:

 

Sorry my Dutch language is not yet sufficient to express myself for this problem.

 

First of all and even though my letter is a complaint I am not trying to offend anyone with this letter, but rather trying to have some clarification and the solution for this problem.

 

I do not know how to start and this is due to the confusion of the subject. Therefore I will list the requirement that I was told by the teachers and administration staff of the Noorderpoort College.

 

1.     I am supposed to make the above mentioned “Staatsexamen Programma I” in October 2009.

2.     Enable to make this “Staatsexamen Programma I”, I have to have the so called “Niveau 4” of the NT2 of the Dutch language.

3.     To have “Niveau 4” of the Dutch language, I have to have completed successfully the so called “Code-2” Dutch study book.

4.     To complete the so called “Code-2” Dutch study book, I have to have completed successfully the so called “Code-1” Dutch study book.

5.     At the Noorderpoort college and from August 2008 and until 02.07.2009 we barely finished the so called “Code-1” Dutch study Book, and from my point of view not successfully due to not performing sufficient team practices and due to lack of practice outside the school.

6.     I was told that I am supposed to go back to school in August and September and then make the Staatsexam in October 2009 and this allegedly based on a teaching contract with you.

7.     The school Noorderpoort College has a contract with you and me that starts on 01.08.2008 and ends on 01.08.2009. Here also confusion and I am asking you: Am I going back to school in August or is this it because the contract ends on 01.08.2009??

8.     I was told that the gemeente pays for the schooling, yet I was forced to pay 270 Euro.

9.     I was told that the gemeente pays only for one year schooling and after this year I am supposed to pay it myself, which I can’t afford.

 

Based on the above and the teaching flow, and to complete the so called “Code-2” Dutch study book it would take another year and only then I would have the so called “Niveau 4” of the Dutch language that should enable me to make the “Staatsexamen NT2 Programma I” in October 2010 and not in October 2009.

 

This is for me a big confusion that I am supposed to make “Staatsexamen NT2 Programma I” while my Dutch language capability is “Niveau 2” or less.

 

Other related problems:

1.     The study books Code-1 and Code-2 are designed for a heavy class work, which we did not do, may be because it is impossible due to the short period of time we had to attend the school 7.5 hours a week. This means the exercises of the book require that the students practice together heavily (team practice) the given exercises under the supervision of the teacher. Based on the flow of the class since August 2008 this would require at least 14-20 hours per chapter of a total of 15 chapters (Hoofdstukken), this equals minimum 2-3 weeks per chapter based on 7.5 hours per week, which means Code-1 study book require either 2 years based on 7.5 hours per week, or 1 year with 15-20 hours per week, or there is another solution that was not used in our class and I am not aware of.

2.     I have absolutely no practice with the Dutch language. This mean I was learning theory only without practice. Practice is essential for at least two parts of the “Staatsexam”, which is speaking and hearing (=“Spreken” and “Luisteren”). Without practice I am unable to understand what I hear and I am not able to speak properly

3.     Since approximately September 2008 I have asked Stichting Welzijn and Noorderpoort College many times for the offered so called “Taal Mentor”, unfortunately without any success. This means I was denied proper Dutch learning that makes it difficult for me to understand what I hear or to speak what I learned.

4.     Instead of the “Taal Mentor” Stichting Welzijn” has forced upon me a very bad waste of time additional class every Friday. Very bad because it was not teaching me Dutch but rather mainly dictating words that means nothing I could get a dictionary and perform these tasks by myself. Beside the teacher was foreigner which makes it difficult to understand the actual Dutch people, and possibly he was not even a teacher.

5.     We had at least 3 unqualified teachers or teacher substitutes that really was a waste of time, due to they were not teachers and did not know how to teach, yet they held around 20-25% of the class time

6.     We had at least two foreigners as teacher that were not teachers, which is very bad for teaching the Dutch language

7.     We had several teachers, around 4, exchanged from August to January, which makes it even harder to follow up any teaching. Since I do not speak Dutch, I can’t tell the difference if the person is Dutch or not (unless he/she speaks less than me) and therewith we could have had several teachers that are not Dutch yet teaches Dutch and I was not able to tell and that would explain the large language teaching confusion between August and December 2008

 

To be fair, I am captive in this country, because I did not came here voluntarily, but rather the American, German, English, Dutch governments and their allies use each others to keep unwanted persons captive in other countries as they did to me ever since 1959 while forcing me to think that this is my doings and that is brainwash. Yet I tried very hard to learn Dutch, but somehow it was for me very difficult and nearly impossible to learn it, among others due to the above situations and reasons.

 

I hope that you help me clarify these confusions and may be also it would help you to adjust for future students.
